The house extension resembles an asymmetrical barn, timber framed and clad in Western Red Cedar that has been fitted to a standard that borders on perfectionist. Their joinery skills really shone with the making of bespoke fitted internal shelves and cupboards designed by the architect, sourcing oak to keep the standard of finishes in the interior high. BLOK designed and built an external shed / log store and a bin store in Western Red Cedar to match the facade of the extension itself. Landscaping including creating a curved black slate path, a timber deck and establishing a solid hard standing for parking topped in white gravel. The overall impression for my house is creative architecture executed with precision to make a comfortable contemporary home.

The quality of workmanship for the build exceeded my expectations. Everyone comments on the craftsmanship that the build displays. even the Building Control officer congratulated Mike on the quality of his joinery work. I was uncertain about what to expect when my house extension and make-over went to site, I had no experience in this kind of project. BLOK’s team were very professional, telling me in advance everything that I needed to know and thinking ahead to make life as easy as possible for me while the build was in progress.
